Indian Railways: It was heavy to go to the toilet at the railway station, IRCTC charged Rs 112 including GST

You must have also used the toilet of railway station or bus stand at one time or another and for this you must have paid a fee of 5 to 10 rupees. Now a news related to this is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In fact, in lieu of using the washroom of the Executive Lounge at Agra Cantt station for a few minutes, two tourists arriving from the British Embassy New Delhi had to pay 112-112 i.e. Rs 224.

What is the percentage of GST levied

The amount paid includes 6 percent GST and 6 percent C GST. This means that 12 percent GST has been charged for going to the toilet. This is the first case of its kind so far, in which even going to the toilet has proved to be so expensive for someone.

The tourists found the use of the executive branch very expensive and when the matter reached the lounge manager, he said that there is no fault of IRCTC. This lounge is executive. It is mandatory to pay a minimum fee of Rs 112 after 50 percent discount for staying in the Executive Lounge.

According to IRCTC, complimentary coffee is given to you in the ground after making the payment. In this you can use the washroom. Can use free wifi. You can stay in the Executive Lounge for up to 2 hours on payment.

Even before this, the matter related to service charge has come to the fore

IRCTC is not in news for the first time because of its service charge. Earlier in the Bhopal Shatabdi train, a service charge of Rs 50 was taken from a person on a cup of Rs 20. That person had to pay 70 rupees for a cup of tea. As a proof of this ‘hi-fi’ service of the railway, the person had shared that tea bill on social media, after which the railway had to issue its statement as a clarification.
