Arvind Giril, who became MLA for the fifth time from Gola assembly seat in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh, has died. He was on his way to attend a meeting in Lucknow, when a heart attack occurred on the way. BJP MLA Arvind Giri, who reached near Sidhauli, had a heart attack in a moving vehicle. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

CM Yogi Adityanath has also condoled the death of Arvind Giri. CM Yogi has said in his condolence message that the death of BJP MLA Arvind Giri from Gola assembly seat of Lakhimpur Kheri district is extremely sad, my condolences are with the bereaved family, Lord Shri Ram give place to the departed soul at his feet and mourning. Give the family the strength to bear this irreparable loss.

Born on June 30, 1958, Arvind Giri started his political career with the Samajwadi Party in 1994. In 1995, he won the election with a record number of votes and became the Gola Municipality President. After this, for the first time in 1996, he became MLA after getting 49 thousand votes on SP ticket. In 2000, he again became the President of Palika Parishad Gola.

In 2002, Arvind Giri became MLA for the second time on SP ticket. In 2005, during the SP regime, he got his brother’s wife Anita Giri elected as the District Panchayat President. In 2007, wife Sudha Giri was elected as the President of the Municipal Council, Gola. Then in 2007 itself he became MLA for the third time after getting 58 thousand votes. He also won the 2012 elections on a BSP ticket.

But in 2017 Arvind Giri switched sides and joined the BJP. BJP gave him a ticket and he became MLA for the fourth time from Gola assembly. In 2022 also Arvind Giri contested and won the election on BJP ticket. The political stature of Arvind Giri had increased a lot. This is the reason why he won the election for the fifth time in a row. There is a wave of mourning in the entire district on his death.
