Team India out of Asia Cup, now the final match will be between Pakistan and Sri Lanka

Team India is out of Asia Cup 2022. In the match played in Sharjah on Wednesday, Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by one wicket. With the victory of Pakistan, both Afghanistan and India’s dream of reaching the final has been shattered. Now Sri Lanka is going to face Pakistan in the final match to be held in Dubai on 11 September. Although there are still two matches left in the Super-Four, but the finals of both the teams are set to play.

If the Indian team now defeats Afghanistan in its last match of the Super-Four to be played in Dubai on 8 September, then it will be able to reach only two points. That is, in the matter of points, India can no longer beat Pakistan and Sri Lanka in any condition. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have four points each.

Babar Azam dismissed cheaply

Chasing 130 runs, Pakistan lost the wicket of captain Babar Azam in the first over itself. After this, within 50 runs, Pakistan also lost the wickets of Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman. But the 42-run partnership between Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan brought the Pakistani innings back on track.

Naseem did wonders with the bat in the last over

Iftikhar Ahmed scored 30 and Shadab Khan scored 36 runs. After Iftikhar Ahmed returned to the pavilion, Pakistan lost wickets at regular intervals, taking their score to 110 for 8. After this Asif Ali also got out after hitting some big hits. Pakistan had to score 11 runs in the last over but Naseem Shah ended the match by hitting a six off the first two balls.

Afghanistan got a quick start

After losing the toss to bat first, the Afghanistan team got a quick start once again by its openers. Rahmanullah Gurbaz (17) hit two sixes against Hasnain in the second over of the innings, while Hazratullah Zazai (21) hit two fours against Haris Rauf in the fourth over. However, Rauf ended his innings by bowling Gurbaz on the fifth ball of the same over. Gurbaz shared a 36-run partnership for the first wicket with Jazai. Then Jazai became the victim of Mohammad Hasnain in the fifth over of the innings.

Then the innings faltered

After two consecutive blows, Ibrahim Zadran and Karim Janat (15) tried to handle the innings with a partnership of 35 runs. However, in front of the tight bowling of Pakistan, both the batsmen were seen struggling to score runs fast. Mohammad Nawaz, trying to hit a big shot in the 12th over, returned the pavilion to Janat. Then Najibullah Zadran (10) also got bowled on the last ball of the 14th over.

On the very first ball of the next over, Naseem Shah was dismissed without opening the account, due to which Afghanistan’s score was 91 for five. On the other hand, Ibrahim Zadran hit a six off Shadab to speed up the run rate, but he too was caught by wicketkeeper Rizwan off Rauf in the 17th over.

Rashid Khan saved the shame

Later, the pair of Azmatullah Omerzai and Rashid Khan then added 24 runs in the last three overs to help Afghanistan reach 129 for six. Rashid remained unbeaten on 18 and Omerzai on 10. Haris Rauf was Pakistan’s most successful bowler with two wickets. On the other hand, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan got one wicket.
