Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Describing the announcement of PM Modi to develop 14500 schools as model schools, he has demanded to upgrade all the schools in the country. Sharing this letter on Twitter, Kejriwal wrote, “My letter to the Prime Minister. He announced to upgrade 14,500 schools, very good. But there are 10 lakh government schools in the country. In this way, it will take more than a hundred years to fix all the schools. You are requested to make a plan to fix all one million schools together.
Arvind Kejriwal, who had praised PM Modi’s decision even a day earlier, wrote in the letter, “I have come to know from the media that the central government has planned to upgrade 14500 schools across the country. This is a very good thing. The condition of government schools across the country is very bad. There is a great need to upgrade and modernize them.” Kejriwal further wrote, “27 crore children go to school every day across the country. Of these, about 18 crore children go to government schools. The condition of more than 80% of government schools is worse than any junkyard. If we are giving such education to crores of children, then imagine how India will become a developed country?

Mistake happened after independence: Kejriwal
Talking about the lack of proper attention to education in the 75 years after independence, Kejriwal wrote, “In 1947, we made a big mistake. As soon as the country became independent, first of all we should have opened excellent government schools in every village and every locality of India. No country can progress without giving good education to its children. We did not do this in 1947. What is more sad is that even for the next 75 years, we did not pay attention to giving good education to our children. Can India waste any more time?”
‘Declaration good but not enough’
On one hand, Kejriwal said that PM Modi’s announcement was good, then he also said that doing this is not enough. He wrote, “You have planned to fix only 14500 government schools. There are more than one million government schools across the country. In this way, it will take more than a hundred years to fix all the government schools. So will we be left behind other countries for the next hundred years as well? Our country cannot become a developed country without a system of excellent education in every government school of the country.
Promise of cooperation in nation building
In this letter to PM Modi before the start of the ‘Make India Number One’ campaign, the AAP convener wrote, “130 crore people of the country are not ready to stop anymore. Everyone wants India to become the number one country in the world, India to be a rich country, India to be the best and most powerful country.” Promising cooperation to PM Modi, the Delhi CM wrote, “I request you to Instead of 14500, a plan should be made to make one and a half lakh government schools luxurious. In this, all the state governments should be taken along and it should be implemented in the next five years. This is what the whole country wants. In Delhi, we made very good government schools for very little money. We will fully cooperate with you in this work of nation building.
