What is the whole matter
In a video viral on social media, a man is seen cleaning his scooter with the tricolor. The incident is from Bhajanpura area of Northeast Delhi and the person disrespecting the tricolor in the video is a resident of North Ghonda area.
In the video, the man is seen cleaning and dusting his white scooter with a folded flag. During this, the local people made the video and uploaded it on social media and made it viral. On the other hand, after watching the video on social media, users gave a strong reaction and demanded strict action against the accused.
Taking cognizance of a video being shared on social media wherein one person is seen using the National Flag in disrespectful manner, #DelhiPolice has registered an FIR. Accused has been apprehended; flag & scooty recovered.

Police registered a case under relevant sections
At the same time, after the video went viral, Delhi Police registered an FIR against the accused and started legal action. A case under section 2 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honor Act, 1971 has been registered at Bhajanpura police station. A senior police officer said the flag used by the accused and his scooty have been recovered. The accused has been asked to join the investigation, the police officer said. The accused has said in his explanation that he did not do this intentionally.
