Uttarakhand / Dehradun : POCSO court sentenced the convict of raping a minor to 12 years

The Dehradun POCSO Court has sentenced the accused of raping a 10-year-old minor girl under Section 376, on the basis of sufficient evidence-evidence, and sentenced him to 12 years of rigorous imprisonment. Not only this, the court of Special Judge Meena Deupa of POCSO Court has also imposed a fine of 50 thousand on the accused Salim. 40 thousand will be provided as compensation to the victim from the amount of fine. At the same time, in case of non-payment of the fine amount, the accused Salim will have to undergo an additional rigorous punishment of 3 months. In this case, the convicted accused Salim has been sentenced separately for 2 years in the case of section 506 (threat to kill).
This was the case: According to Dehradun POCSO Court Government Advocate Jaya Thakur, the case of raping a minor is dated 22 February 2019. In Chharba area under police station Sahaspur, when a 10-year-old girl was alone at home after coming from school on February 22, taking advantage of this, an accused named Salim entered the house and closed the door from inside. After which the accused raped the girl. The girl’s parents were on duty at the Selakui factory at the time of the incident.
According to government advocate Jai Thakur, after this incident, for two days, the girl was lying missing at home in a state of disarray. Two days after the incident, on 24 February 2022, when the parents somehow asked the girl about her condition after medical treatment, the girl told her ordeal. Even before this, he had done such an act. As soon as all the information about this incident came to light, the victim’s parents filed a case against Salim in the police station Sahaspur under the POCSO Act. In view of the seriousness of the matter, the police arrested the accused Salim on the basis of 164 statement of the girl, medical report and other evidence.
