In the Pathri police station area, the death toll is increasing due to drinking spurious liquor. Another person died today. Whereas, a young man is still swinging between life and death. In fact, Roopchand, a resident of Shivgarh Pathri, who was brought to the district hospital on Sunday morning, died during treatment. At the same time, in view of Sukhpal’s critical condition, doctors have referred him to the Higher Center. At the same time, the death toll due to drinking spurious liquor has now increased to five. Which has been confirmed by the administration.
Let us tell you that before the Panchayat elections in Pathri police station area, the candidates and supporters are trying to get votes by drinking liquor among the people. Liquor is being distributed fiercely in the area for the last 4 to 5 days. The highest quantity of liquor distributed is of raw liquor, which is prepared in village-village. It is being told that 4 people had died in the village on Saturday after drinking similar liquor. On Sunday morning, 35-year-old Roopchand, a resident of Shivgarh, was brought to the hospital by the family members after his condition deteriorated. But Roopchand died during treatment.
It is being told that Roopchand had also consumed the same raw liquor, after which other villagers died. Shortly after Roopchand’s death, villagers also took a young man named Sukhpal to the district hospital, but seeing his serious condition, the district hospital immediately referred him to a higher centre. Apart from this, the condition of a young man named Ajay, who was admitted to Metro Hospital since yesterday morning, has become very critical. He has been having frequent seizures since Sunday morning. Due to which his condition is continuously deteriorating. Doctors have put him on ventilator for the time being. At the same time, Karanpal, who was brought with Ajay, is currently kept on oxygen support, doctors are telling his condition out of danger.
It may be noted that in Phulgarh Shivgarh village of Pathri police station area of Haridwar, four people had died due to consumption of poisonous liquor on the previous day. As soon as the information about the matter was received, there was a stir in the district administration and the police. Police officers had reached the spot. Police have detained two people in the case. At the same time, the SO Pathri police station has been suspended in the case. Regarding the incident, CM Dhami said that an inquiry has been ordered in the entire matter and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
