AIMPLB raised questions

The Uttar Pradesh government had said on August 31 that it would conduct a survey of unrecognized madrassas in the state. The government had said it would gather information on teachers, curriculum, their relationship with NGOs and availability of basic facilities, among other things.

However, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has raised questions on the Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to conduct a survey of unrecognized madrassas in the state. The AIMPLB has described this as part of the targeting of institutions by BJP-ruled states.
