Uttarakhand / Champawat: SDM Anil Chanyal mysteriously missing, police and SDRF-SOG engaged in search

Champawat SDM Sadar Anil Chanyal has been missing for about 72 hours. He was last seen last Saturday. On Monday, in the meeting of the DM, the matter of the disappearance of the SDM opened on his absence. Where did the SDM go, neither the higher officials nor the relatives are aware of it. His sudden disappearance is a shock.

The police team of the entire district is engaged in the search for the SDM. Late in the evening, SDM’s cook Ramesh Rana has lodged a missing complaint at Champawat Kotwali. SP Devendra Pincha said that on Monday, the DM took a meeting of the officers in the district auditorium to review the development works.

But SDM Sadar Chanyal was not present in the meeting. Called them, the number was switched off. When the SDM got information about him from the cook, it came to know that on Saturday, the SDM had discharged him. When he returned to his duty on Monday, the SDM’s room was locked but the lobby was open.

It has been learned that on Saturday, the SDM has gone somewhere without informing anyone. He has left his official phone in his room. Together they left a letter on their table. In which it is written that ‘Deposit this government number in the disaster.’ According to the police, the cook was discharged by the SDM on Saturday. When the cook returned to duty, he found the SDM’s official phone and letter kept in the open lobby.

SDM’s family lives in Haldwani

District police team including SOG, surveillance team of the district are engaged in the search for missing SDM Sadar Anil Chanyal. His family members have been informed about this. So far the police have not received any complaint in the matter.
