Uttarakhand : Five officers including former secretary Badoni on radar in UKSSC paper leak case, action can be taken anytime

The investigation into the UKSSSC paper leak case has reached Santosh Badoni, former secretary of the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission. Apart from this, Uttarakhand STF has started investigation against three other officers including retired controller of examination Narayan Singh Dangi. Uttarakhand STF has gathered strong evidence against these five officers.

On the basis of the evidence gathered by the Uttarakhand STF, Vigilance is investigating the paper leaks including the properties of these accused officers. Vigilance is continuously making inquiries on the basis of facts. In such a situation, if sources are to be believed, Vigilance is preparing to register a case against the five officers including the former secretary soon.

Important clues found from the owner of the printing press

According to police sources, the role of former secretary Santosh Badoni, retired examiner Narayan Singh Dangi three and three section officers in the UKSSSC paper leak case were under suspicion from day one. When the Uttarakhand STF arrested Rajesh Chauhan, the owner of Lucknow-based RMS Techno Solution paper printing press, after extensive interrogation, the STF came to the hands of the accused officers of the Commission of Evidence.

This was the reason why the STF had written a letter seeking permission from the government to file a case against the five officers. However, by not giving permission to register a case like the government, first handing over their investigation to the Vigilance and ordering action. Under the same, the Vigilance is engaged in the investigation by interrogating the accused officers.

Suspicion deepened after resignation

As soon as the UKSSSC paper leak was exposed and the Uttarakhand STF started the investigation, then S Raju, the first chairman of the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission, resigned from his post, citing ethics. From there, the government suspended Secretary Santosh Badoni after removing him from the post. At the same time, the commission’s examination controller Narayan Singh Dangi also retired in January 2022, sometime after the graduation level examination was conducted in December 2021. According to the investigation, the paper of VPVDO and Secretariat Guard was leaked from inside the commission during the tenure of all these officers. Uttarakhand STF has gathered many strong evidences against the accused officers in its investigation.

This is the whole matter

On 4th to 5th December 2021, Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission had conducted the examination for recruitment to 916 graduate level posts in various departments. After 6 months, on 22 July 2022, the Uttarakhand Unemployed Union complained to the Chief Minister alleging rigging in the recruitment examination. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the Chief Minister ordered Director General of Police Ashok Kumar to conduct an inquiry into the recruitment.

On the orders of the DGP, a case was registered in the Raipur police station on 22 July 2022 and the investigation of the entire case was handed over to the STF. STF also took swift action and arrested 37 people including copying mafia from Uttarakhand to Uttar Pradesh and sent them to jail.
