Heavy rain expected for four days in Uttarakhand, red alert has been issued for September 17

The weather conditions have started changing in Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in most parts of the state for the next four days.

Holiday declared in schools

Orange alert has been issued for heavy rain for three days from Wednesday, whereas, a red alert has been issued on 17 September. Due to the warning, Holiday Declared in Schools has been declared in most of the districts of Kumaon and in Chamoli district of Garhwal division.

Rain can increase again trouble

After giving relief for a few days, monsoon rains can increase the problem again. Along with the activity of Monsoon, there are chances of heavy rainfall due to the fresh Western Disturbance hitting the Himalayan region.

The weather is likely to wreak havoc in Uttarakhand for the next few days from Wednesday. There is a need to be vigilant especially in the marginal districts of Kumaon and the hilly districts of Garhwal.

Heavy to very heavy rain may occur on 17th

According to Bikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center, Orange Alert for Heavy Rain has been issued in most parts of the state for the next three days. Whereas, a red alert has been issued on 17 for heavy to very heavy rainfall.

During this, there is a possibility of strong showers and lightning with thunder at some places. The hill districts are prone to landslides and rock slides.

Advice to stay away from rivers and streams

Due to the overflow of rivers and streams, there may be danger to the people around. In such a situation, it has been advised to stay away from the banks of rivers and streams. Along with this, there is a need to stay in safe places and be careful in movement during the rainy season.
