Uttarakhand : Bridge and Roof Company will also out, loan, irrigation and drinking water from “Dehradun Smart City Project”
The company has also been thrown out by snatching the work of Smart City from the Bridge and Roof Company. Earlier, Hindustan Steel Works Construction Ltd., regarding the tender for child friendly city project. was shown the way out. This action was taken on the recommendation of Urban Development Minister Premchand Agrawal and approval of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Public troubled the company heavy
The Bridge and Roof Company was given the responsibility of smart road, drainage and sewerage works in the city, due to these works going on on the main roads for about two and a half years, the public is facing a lot of trouble. The reason is that the speed of work is very slow. Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama and Rajpur Road MLA Khajan Das have openly expressed their displeasure towards the works of Smart City. On July 29, Urban Development Minister Premchand Aggarwal had also expressed displeasure by conducting on-site inspection of the works.
Impact on other construction projects will also be seen
About half of the 27 works including smart roads, drainage and sewer could not be completed even after the expiry of time. The company was continuously negligent in the construction work. Smart city was constantly in the headlines of the newspapers. When Chief Minister Dhami took an update on the works of Smart Road, Sewerage and Drainage, the gross negligence on the part of the company was exposed, after which the executive body Bridge and Roof was instructed to show the way out. After this tough stand of the government, now other construction agencies are apprehensive and efforts are being started to improve the work. The effect of this action will be seen on other construction projects as well.
Irrigation and drinking water will work
The government has taken a big step by snatching the work from the construction companies which have been working for the smart city for a long time. Urban Development Minister Premchand Aggarwal said that after the work is withdrawn from the Bridge and Roof Company, now Lonvi will take over the responsibility of Smart Road. At the same time, the sewerage works will be done by the Drinking Water Corporation and the drainage works will be done by the Irrigation Department.
There were complaints about the works of Smart City for a long time. Before I became the Chief Minister, the construction works were allotted to the companies, but the construction work was not being done properly, after which the decision was taken to exclude the companies. Soon the responsibility of the government departments will be decided regarding the works of Smart City.
