If the dog has bitten, then keep these things in mind

There have been several incidents of dog attacks on people in recent times. A child playing in a park in Ghaziabad was attacked by a pitbull in such a way that he had to get around 150 stitches. Recently, three persons were injured after a neighbor allegedly attacked him with an iron pipe in a brawl over a pet dog barking in Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area. Dharamveer was walking on the road named Dahiya when a pet dog started barking at him. Suddenly Dahiya grabbed the dog’s tail and threw it away. After that the dog bit him. After this he hit the dog with an iron rod.
Experts opinion
According to Veterinarian Dr Vinod Sharma, ‘A dog bite can cause septicemia, rabies or even death of the person. These things are likely to happen if you do not take proper care of the wound and do not take injections regularly.” Referring to the complications that occur after a dog bite, Dr. Sharma says, “In India, The biggest problem is lack of awareness. This is why so many people die from rabies. Street dogs are not vaccinated and the vaccines used for treatment are not in good condition.
Do this work
▪️When a dog bites, most people don’t clean it up leading to complications. According to experts, it is necessary to follow these things for a speedy recovery, which are as follows-
▪️Clean the area where the dog bites as much as possible with running water and soap.
▪️Seek immediate medical help.
▪️You can also apply betadine or an antiseptic in liquid form after washing.
▪️On the day the dog is bitten, on the third day, the seventh day, the fourteenth day and then on the twenty-eighth day, that is, a total of five anti-rabies injections are given free of cost in government hospitals.
▪️Do not bandage the wound. Let the doctor decide what to do. Further steps should be taken only after consulting a doctor.
Healing process
Experts agree that the place where the dog has bitten also matters. If it is on the shoulder, the treatment is different. If it is below the shoulders, the healing process changes. Pet dogs are usually vaccinated while street dogs are not vaccinated, so their bites are more prone to rabies.
