Uttarakhand / Almora : Vishwakarma Day declared a holiday, this holiday was canceled

The holiday of Anvastaka in the district will not be held this time due to its adjustment in the past. That is, on the day of Navami Shraddha, all offices and educational institutions will remain open on Monday 19th September. However, Saturday 17 September has been declared as a holiday for Chahallum and Vishwakarma.

According to the order letter issued by District Magistrate Vandana Singh, this time Navami Shraddha will not be a holiday. It should be noted that the number of local holidays is not more than three mandated. Due to which the Anavastaka holiday proposed earlier on September 19 was adjusted in the Holi festival given in the month of March. Due to which there is no holiday on Navami Shraddha this time. At the government level, already on September 17, Saturday, Chahallum and Vishwakarma have been declared holidays and 18 is Sunday.

This time there is no Shradh on 17th September. At the same time, Shradh Paksha will end on September 25 with Pitru Visarjan Amavasya. It is noteworthy that according to the Manual of Government Ice (Revised) 1881 edition Para-247, the District Magistrate has the right to grant local holidays with restrictions, but their number cannot exceed three.

It is noteworthy that Pitru Paksha started from 10th September. In these days, the ancestors who have passed away in the Pitru Paksha are worshipped with full devotion. Mahalaya Amavasya or Sarva Pitri Amavasya is on 25 September. It is the last day of Father’s Day. Vedic Panchang is telling that Mahalaya Amavasya Tithi will start on 25 September 2022 at 3:12 am in the morning, which will end on 26 September at 3:23 am.
