Uttarakhand : May come before the scheduled time, the inquiry report of recruitments from the backdoor in the assembly

The expert committee is engaged in investigation night and day to submit the report of backdoor recruitments in the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly before the stipulated deadline. The committee can submit the inquiry report to the Speaker within a week. Along with this, the beating of employees getting jobs from backdoor is getting faster. Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan has indicated that the report of the expert committee will come soon. He said that the committee report would be decisive for the assembly and Uttarakhand. Backdoor recruitments came into controversy in the Vidhan Sabha after the STF investigation into the paper leak case of the Subordinate Services Selection Commission’s graduate level recruitment examination began. The list of appointments made during the tenure of the then Assembly Speakers in the Congress and BJP government from 2012 to 2022 had also gone viral on social media. Chief Minister Dhami had requested the Speaker to conduct an inquiry after receiving complaints about the recruitment in the assembly and had spoken of full cooperation from the government.
On September 3, the Speaker of the Assembly constituted a three-member expert committee under the chairmanship of former IAS DK Kotia for the recruitments in the Vidhan Sabha. The committee was given one month’s time to submit the inquiry report. On September 4, the committee reached the assembly and started the investigation. The committee is examining the files, files related to the recruitments day and night in the assembly building. The members of the committee carefully scrutinized each and every file regarding the recruitments. Now the committee is finalizing the report. According to sources, the committee is likely to submit the report to the speaker within the next one week.
Recruitments after state formation under scrutiny
The expert committee constituted to investigate the backdoor recruitments and promotions against the rules in the Vidhan Sabha has included the recruitments and promotions since the formation of the state till 2022. At the time of the announcement of the committee, the Speaker of the Assembly had said that in the first phase, the recruitments from 2012 to 2022 would be scrutinized. If need be, the recruitments from 2000 to 2011 will be brought under scrutiny. According to sources, the committee has examined all the recruitments made from the formation of the state till 2022.
The expert committee is taking its work seriously. On Saturdays and Sundays, the committee is busy working on holidays and from 9 to 10 pm. The officers of the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat are providing whatever files and files related to the recruitment are being sought by the committee, the report of the committee will come soon. This report will be decisive for the assembly and Uttarakhand.
