Uttarakhand : Government teacher of Dhumakote arrested, accused of tampering with OMR sheet
After the investigation was transferred from Vigilance, the STF has also arrested an accused in the case of rigging the Village Development Officer (VPDO) examination. The accused is a teacher of a government school in Dhumakote.
The Gram Panchayat Development Officer exam was held in the year 2016. When rigging was found in this examination, investigation was done at the government level. In the year 2019, the investigation went on till December. After the fraud was confirmed, it was sent to the Vigilance. Vigilance filed a case in this matter in January 2020. But, till now none of the accused has been named. On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, it was agreed to get this case investigated by the STF.
On the instructions of the government, this case was handed over to the STF recently. During the investigation, the test report of the OMR sheet was also called from the forensic laboratory. It was confirmed that the OMR sheet has been tampered with.
STF SSP Ajay Singh said that on the basis of all these evidences, one accused Mukesh Kumar Sharma resident of Mohalla Vasant Vihar, Girital, Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar has been arrested on Friday. He is a teacher in Government Primary School located at Chulsia, Dhumakot, Pauri Garhwal.
Four brokers also on radar
In this case, STF has got important information from Mukesh. It is being told that the names of those who had OMR sheets have also been given by Mukesh Sharma. Whether he belonged to the commission or some other institution, it is not clear yet. STF has taken four people on the radar. Soon some of them may also be arrested.
