Will ‘The Kashmir Files’ be behind Brahmastra on Sunday? Akshay-Ajay’s films earned more than just South

Ayan Mukerji’s Astraverse has had a great start and his Fantasy Universe debut film ‘Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva’ is earning hugely at the box office (Brahmastra Box Office Collection). There was a lot of negative atmosphere on social media before the release of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer film.

The way the hashtags of ‘Brahmastra’ boycott trended on social media every day, it once seemed as if the film would sink. But fighting this negative atmosphere and mixed reviews from critics, ‘Brahmastra’ made a strong debut in theatres. The film is in the middle of its second weekend at the box office and on Saturday, the film has once again collected a strong collection of Rs 15.38 crore. This is the India collection of the film (Brahmastra India Collection). ‘Brahmastra’ is going to do the real wonders on Sunday.

‘The Kashmir Files’ will be behind
Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ is the biggest Bollywood film of 2022 so far. Anupam Kher starrer film did a lifetime gross collection of Rs 341 crore at the worldwide box office (The Kashmir Files Collection). The math of the box office trend is saying that on Sunday, after the end of the second weekend, the worldwide collection of ‘Brahmastra’ is going to reach close to Rs 350 crore. Sunday is the 10th day of ‘Brahmastra’ in theatres. Within a week, the worldwide gross collection of ‘Brahmastra’ had crossed the 300 crore mark.

Strong earning in South too
The biggest gain of ‘Brahmastra’, which has earned more than Rs 199 crore at the Indian box office till Saturday, is its earnings in the South’s markets. In 9 days, ‘Brahmastra’ has collected more than Rs 50 crore gross in the markets of South. The calculation of this collection is as follows:

Andhra Pradesh/Telangana (AP/TG) – 26.80 crores
Karnataka – Rs 13.25 crore
Tamil Nadu – 8 crore
Kerala – 2.47 crores

Movies of big Bollywood stars and ‘Brahmastra’
In 2022, the top stars of Bollywood have had to struggle a lot at the box office. Akshay Kumar, who is called the king of box office collection and Ajay Devgan’s films among the top collecting stars, also could not do wonders this year.

While Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bachchan Pandey’ got reduced to 49.98 crores, ‘Raksha Bandhan’ could earn only 44.39 crores. Ajay Devgan’s ‘Runway 34’ was even behind these two and could earn only up to Rs 32.96 crore. Ranveer Singh’s ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’, counted among the Next Generation Stars, also flopped badly and collected only 15.59 crores.

As we just mentioned above, the gross collection of Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Brahmastra’ only from South is more than 50 crores, which is more than Ajay, Akshay and Ranveer Singh’s films. Till the time the account of ‘Brahmastra’ earnings is closed, the share of South’s earnings in its net lifetime collection will also be more than the films of these top stars.

The collection of ‘Brahmastra’ in 10 days at the Indian box office is likely to remain up to Rs 217-218 crore. According to this, even if we add the slow pace of the film during the working days, even then ‘Brahmastra’ seems to be comfortably crossing the 250 crore mark in India. Now it is interesting to see whether ‘Brahmastra’ can cross the 252 crore mark, which is the lifetime collection of ‘The Kashmir Files’ at the Indian box office.
