Bihar : Government is considering to open the school only 5 days a week, students started dancing with joy

The Bihar government is all set to introduce a ‘no-bag day’ rule in schools and a ‘period’ of compulsory sports at least once a week to reduce the burden of students’ bags. This information was given by an official on Saturday. Education Department’s Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar Singh told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ that a notification to this effect will be issued soon. He said that the weekly ‘No-Bag Day’ will have work-based practical classes. He said, “At least once a week, students will come to school with their tiffin boxes. They will not need to carry books on that day. The day will be dedicated to learning practical and experiential things.” The aim of such a policy is to involve the students in various activities, which can have a positive impact on their learning.

Singh told PTI-language, “School authorities should prepare a curriculum for such activities. This step will surely bring about a positive change in the students, which will also improve their learning ability. Encouraged by the impressive performance of our students in regional, national and international sporting events, we will introduce compulsory sports period in schools. Will go

State Art, Culture and Youth Minister Jitendra Kumar Rai said on starting the sports period at least once a week, “Our department is preparing a proposal in this regard. I will meet the education minister of the state and submit a detailed proposal to him.”

He said that it is a matter of pride that the players of the state have performed well in the recent national and international games. “If a ‘period’ of sports is started in schools, we will be able to identify talent at a very early stage. The government will prepare them accordingly for state, national and international sporting events.”
