President Draupadi Murmu meets Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina

Indian President Draupadi Murmu met Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina in London today. They met before the start of the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II of Britain. President Murmu is on a three-day visit to Britain to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth. The President paid tribute to the departed soul on behalf of himself and the people of India at Westminster Hall in London.

Rashtrapati Bhavan tweeted, ‘President Draupadi Murmu met Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana. They met before the start of the Queen’s state funeral. Earlier, the President had met with the new King Charles III of Buckingham Britain. After meeting King Charles, Draupadi Murmu paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth and signed a condolence book in her memory.

President on a three-day visit to Britain

Let us inform that President Murmu has gone to Britain on a three-day visit from 17 to 19 September. She has arrived in London on behalf of the Government of India to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. She arrived at Gatwick Airport in London on Saturday. Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra along with the President reached London at 08:50, after which everyone left for the hotel. The Indian High Commissioner to Britain welcomed the President along with others.

Queen Elizabeth died on 8 September at the age of 96. Today i.e. on September 19, he is to be cremated with state honors. A state mourning was observed in India on 11 September on his death.
