12 objectionable footages of accused girl found in Chandigarh University MMS case; Videos of other girls were asked from him by blackmailing him
In the VIDEO leak case of Chandigarh University of Punjab, the police have recovered 12 videos from the mobile of the accused student. Right now this objectionable video is being told of the same student. The police have also taken possession of the girl’s laptop after the mobile.
Initial investigation revealed that the accused student was blackmailed by Sunny Mehta and Rankaj Verma. Obscene videos of other girl students were being ordered by threatening to make her video viral. At the same time, continuous calls were made from the phones of the accused in Delhi, Mumbai and Gujarat, indicating that these accused are connected to some big network.
Fourth accused also traced
In the video leak case, the accused girl and her blackmailer Sunny Mehta, besides Rankaj Verma, another accused have been traced. Its name is being told as Mohit. Police have recovered some WhatsApp chats from the mobile of the accused student. In this, a person named Mohit is repeatedly asking the student to delete the video and photo. In this, the accused student is also saying that she was killed today, because a student had seen her taking a photo of a girl taking a bath.
Blackmailers used to save videos in other gadgets
During police interrogation, it was found that after getting the video on mobile, Rankaj and Sunny used to save it in another gadget, then delete it from the mobile. When the police came to know about this, the Punjab Police has reached Shimla with Sunny and Rankaj. Other gadgets are being searched by raiding their house.
Police suspect the story of blackmailing of girl student
During police interrogation, the accused student told that Sunny Mehta is her boyfriend. He had sent his videos to Sunny. Sunny showed that video to his friend Rankaj Verma. After this, both of them together started blackmailing the accused student.
She was threatened that if she did not send objectionable videos of other girl students, her obscene videos would go viral. This claim of the student is being investigated. The police doubt his story. The police feel that the accused student may also be a part of this network.
Threatening to make the video viral being given to girl students
Students of Chandigarh University are still getting threats to make the video viral. Messages are being sent to them through WhatsApp from different numbers. It said get my friend out of jail, or else the video will go viral. Students are being told that we have your video. The girl students who participated in the protest have also been threatened with international numbers in the past.
6 girls watched the video being made
In the FIR registered by the police, it was told that 6 girl students of the university saw him making a video. She had taken this accused student to the hostel warden. On being suspicious, the girl’s hostel manager interrogated her and the accused student confessed.
SIT is investigating women officers
Punjab Police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of 3 members in this case. It is headed by ADGP Gurpreet Kaur Dio. The remaining two women officers have also been included in this. This SIT will also talk to the girl students protesting in the hostel.
