Uttar Pradesh : The water in the Ganges is rising by 4 cm every hour! Cremation submerged and boat closed, how are people guarding the whole night?

The Ganga is in spate again in Kashi, the city of Baba Vishwanath. For the third time in this season, the problems of the people living along the ghat have increased once again due to the boom. The situation is such that with the breakdown of the connectivity of the ghats, now the administration has also banned boat operations again. The effect of this is that once again a crisis has arisen on the people who earn their livelihood from the boat and the passengers are getting upset. Apart from the boatmen, the livelihood of people associated with worship and rituals on the ghats is also being affected.
After 19 days, there is an increase in the water level of the Ganges. According to the data of the Central Water Commission, the water level of the Ganges is rising at the rate of 4 cm per hour in Varanasi. The water level of Ganga was recorded at 65.80 meters till 10 pm on Monday. Due to the rapid boom, apart from the priests who worship on the ghats, the sailors are also very upset. The priests have to change the location of their outposts every day as the water on the ghats is rising, so the sailors are forced to guard their boats through the night to keep them safe.
The problems of dead bodies also increased
Apart from these, due to the boom in the Ganges, the problems of funerals have also increased at the crematoriums of Kashi. Due to the submergence of the cremation platform, people have to wait for the last rites etc. Similar situation is seen in both Manikarnika and Harishchandra Ghat.
These rivers are also in spate
According to experts, not only the Ganges, but also the water level of the Ganges is increasing rapidly due to the rise of Yamuna, Chambal and Ghaghra rivers. In Varanasi, which has been hit by floods in the past, there is a possibility of increase in the water level for the coming few days. Let us inform that the water level of Ganga continues to rise from Phaphamau to Prayagraj and from Mirzapur to Banaras.
