‘Brahmastra’ is the biggest beneficiary on National Cinema Day, more than 11 lakh tickets sold

No one expected the way Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s film ‘Brahmastra’ is earning in theatres. The film, which made records on weekends, slowed down during the working days of the week and for the first time since last Monday, its box office collection went below the 5 crore mark.

Coming from Monday to Thursday, the earnings of ‘Brahmastra’ kept falling and on Thursday the film collected a collection of about Rs 3 crore. With this, the total box office collection of the film has crossed the figure of 230 crores. But on Friday, ‘Brahmastra’ is going to do a big game at the box office. The Multiplex Association of India is celebrating ‘National Cinema Day’ on 23rd September and that is why today the ticket price has been kept at only Rs 75 at more than 4000 multiplex screens across the country.

The purpose of this ‘National Cinema Day’ is to celebrate cinema and also to bring those audiences to theaters who have not yet returned to theaters after the Kovid 19 epidemic. The offer to watch the film in a ticket of Rs 75 had such a strong effect that by noon on Thursday, many theaters started filling up with advance booking. And ‘Brahmastra’ seems to be getting the most benefit of this stormy advance booking.

Highest ticket booking till date
The maximum number of tickets for ‘Brahmastra’, which released in theaters on September 9, have been booked on Friday, 23 September. Talking about the advance booking received by Ayan Mukerji’s film, the highest booking in theaters for ‘Brahmastra’ was for the first Sunday of the film i.e. September 11. On this day more than 7 lakh tickets were booked in advance for ‘Brahmastra’ and the film’s gross collection from online advance was more than Rs 22 crores.

Among them are Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Chup’ and Khushali Kumar, Aparshakti Khurana, R Madhavan’s ‘Dhokha’. With the special offer of National Cinema Day, director R Balki’s ‘Chup’ is likely to get a decent start.

More than 2 lakh tickets have been booked in advance for the film and its gross collection has been more than 2 crores due to advance booking. ‘Chup’ is being released on very limited screens and currently its screen count in India is a little over 800. In such a situation, the response from the public shows that the interest of the public is ‘silent’.

Dhokha and Avatar
Avatar (2009), which made the highest grossing record worldwide, has been released once again by the makers with a new version. Its purpose is also to create an atmosphere for the upcoming sequel of the film.
