Uttarakhand : Avalanche broken near Chorabari Glacier in Kedarnath

Avalanche has fallen in the catchment of Chorabari Glacier in Kedarnath Dham. Although no damage has been caused due to this, but the administration has alerted that it should be continuously monitored. Here, the District Magistrate has also alerted the disaster management. Along with this, the government has been informed about this so that a survey of the incident should be done by a geological team.
According to the information, the avalanche fell on the ground from Chaurabari Glacier in Kedarnath Dham at 4.45 pm on Thursday evening. Looks like a plume of smoke during the fall of a large piece of ice. There has been no damage of any kind in this incident. It is being told that the glacier fell near Brahmagufa, which is about 7 km from Kedarnath Dham. While Chorabari Tal is 5 km away from Kedarnath. After the fall of the avalanche, Yogendra Singh, CEO of BKTC in Kedarnath alerted everyone. Everyone was requested not to go towards the river bank. On the other hand, the administration has alerted SDRF along with disaster management. District Magistrate Mayur Dixit said that avalanche is a common occurrence in the Himalayas, but everyone has been alerted. Disaster Management and SDRF have been put on alert and asked to keep a constant vigil.
The District Magistrate said that the government has also been informed about the incident of avalanche and a geological team has been requested to conduct a survey. Yogendra Singh, SDM and CEO of BKTC, present in Kedarnath said that there is continuous snowfall in the upper areas of Kedarnath. On Thursday, a mild avalanche occurred on the side of Chorabari Glacier, which did not cause any damage. There is no position of any kind of risk. All the construction agencies and the police working in Kedarnath have also been instructed to monitor. Continuous monitoring is being done at all the sensitive places of Kedarnath.
Here, the local people say that in Kedarnath, avalanches keep falling towards Chorabari and Brahmagufa of Meru-Sumeru mountain. Let us tell you that in the year 2013, there was a big disaster due to the breakdown of Chorabari Tal in Kedarnath in which thousands of people died. However, after the disaster of the year 2013, every natural phenomenon in Kedarnath Dham is being closely monitored.
