Civil police will be deployed in 1500 revenue villages in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister brainstormed with CS, ACS and DGP

After the Ankita murder case in Ganga Bhogpur resort of Yamkeshwar block of Pauri district, the scope of civil police is now being increased in the revenue areas of the state. According to the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, preparations are being made to bring 1500 villages under the revenue area of ​​the state in the civil police area. For this, the police headquarters is sending a proposal to the government. Remaining villages will also be taken under civil police in a phased manner.

Neither weapons nor modern technology

Tourism is gaining momentum again in the state. Along with this, the number of hotels, resorts, home stays etc. is also increasing rapidly. Where tourists from all over the country and abroad are coming. With the increase in tourism, the crime graph in the revenue areas is also increasing continuously. At present, the work of law and security in the revenue areas of the state is with the Patwari police. They neither have weapons nor modern technology like the police. As a result, the criminals in the crime committed here do not get caught quickly.

A public interest litigation was filed in the High Court

In view of this, a Public Interest Litigation was filed in the Uttarakhand High Court. Hearing on which the High Court had asked to end the Patwari police system and hand over the entire area to the Civil Police. The government has gone to the Supreme Court against this decision. According to the officials of the government, so far neither the Supreme Court has stayed the High Court’s decision nor has given any new decision. Therefore, the decision of the High Court is still valid.

Chief Minister brainstormed with CS, ACS and DGP

After the incident in Yamkeshwar, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had a discussion with Chief Secretary SS Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary Home Radha Raturi and DGP Ashok Kumar late last night regarding the deployment of civil police in revenue areas.

Actually, there are 7500 villages in the revenue areas. In the first phase, 1500 of these villages will be brought under the ambit of civil police. Director General of Police Ashok Kumar says that the proposal is being prepared as per the instructions of the Chief Minister. In the first phase, civil police will be deployed in 1500 villages.
