When Ankita informed about this to her companions, the resort owner and two of his associates did not know about it. On September 18, there was an altercation between the four regarding this. Meanwhile, Pulkit pushed Ankita into the canal and Pulkit Arya, Ankit and Saurabh fled from the spot. On the night of September 18, when Ankita was seen going with Pulkit, Ankit and Saurabh in the resort’s CCTV, the police took all three into custody. When the matter came to light after the arrest of the accused, the whole country was shocked along with Uttarakhand.
Police have arrested 3 accused resort owner Pulkit Arya, manager Saurabh Bhaskar and assistant manager Ankit Gupta in this case. Pulkit is the son of expelled BJP leader Vinod Arya. Vinod Arya has been a Minister of State in the BJP government of Uttarakhand. Also, the elder brother of the accused Ankit Maurya was the Deputy Chairman of the Other Backward Classes (OBC) Commission in Uttarakhand, who was removed from the post after this incident.
After the Ankita murder case, the Dhami government has also come into action. The Dhami government has taken many swift decisions in view of the Ankita murder case.

- Pulkit Arya’s resort was demolished by bulldozers on the orders of CM Dhami late on Friday night.
- BJP also swung into action. The party expelled Pulkit Arya’s father Vinod Arya and brother Ankit Arya with immediate effect.
- Vinod Arya is a BJP leader from Haridwar and has previously served as the Chairman of Uttarakhand Soti Board with the rank of Minister of State. Pulkit’s brother Ankit is the Deputy Chairman of the State OBC Commission.
- Ordering a strict investigation into the matter, the CM also ordered the district magistrates to investigate all the resorts of the state. And many resorts in Nainital were sealed, this action is going on all over the state.

- Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had a discussion with Chief Secretary SS Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary Home Radha Raturi and DGP Ashok Kumar late last night regarding the deployment of civil police in revenue areas. Civil police will be deployed in 1500 revenue villages.
At present, after post-mortem at AIIMS Rishikesh, the body of Pauri’s daughter Ankita was sent to Medical College, Srinagar. Today Ankita’s last rites were to be performed at the ancestral ghat on the banks of river Alaknanda. But the family has stopped the funeral today. Relatives say that there may be a change in the primary post-mortem report. Ankita’s brother says that the post-mortem should be done again and only after the final report comes, Ankita’s last rites will be performed.
