If people keep ego aside, there will be no need for courts: Chief Justice AA Sayed

If people keep their ego aside, there will be no need for courts in the country. Many issues are resolved through dialogue among themselves. This was stated by the Chief Justice of Himachal High Court, Ahmed A. Syed in the National Legal Services Maha Shivir organized in Dharamsala in collaboration with the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi. He was the chief guest of the programme. High Court Judge Justice Sabina, Justice Justice Vivek Thakur, National Legal Services Authority member secretary Ashok Jain, State Legal Services Authority member secretary Prem Pal Ranta were the special guests.
Chief Justice Justice Amjad A Syed said that the ultimate goal of law is to establish peace and brotherhood among all sections of the society and access to justice is a fundamental right of every citizen. The basic objective of such camps is to create awareness about justice among the people. Told that one crore cases were settled by mutual consent through Lok Adalats organized by NALSA in the country in August. Told that for free service, advocates will be appointed for two years.
High Court Judge Justice Sushil Kukreja, Justice Virendra Singh, Justice Satyen Vaidya, Solicitor General Balram Sharma, Registrar General Arvind Malhotra, Advocate General Ashok Sharma, District and Sessions Judge Ajoy Mehta, High Court Bar Council President Ajay Kochar, Bar Association President Lavneesh Sharma, Member Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Vijay Laxmi, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal were present.
The work of the Legal Services Authority will be delivered to every home: Sabina
State High Court Judge Justice Sabina said that a special drive has been started to identify the eligible people for providing legal aid along with providing information about the works of the Legal Services Authority to every household through Para Legal Volunteers. Under this, so far 39,231 people have been contacted and more than 1,500 people have been identified for legal aid.
Justice is getting sooner through mediation: Vivek
Justice Vivek Thakur, Judge of the State High Court informed that the economically weaker sections of the society are being provided free justice through legal service camps. The disposal of crores of cases has been ensured through Lok Adalats. Due to the mediation of the courts, the number of litigations in the courts has also decreased along with getting quick justice to the people.
Full-time Legal Aid Defense Council will start in six districts: Jain
National Legal Services Authority member secretary Ashok Jain said that full time Legal Aid Defense Councils are being appointed in 365 districts of the country. Six districts of Himachal have been included in this. It also includes Kangra district.
