Ghulam Nabi Azad, who has left the Congress, has announced his new party. The name of his new party is Democratic Azad Party. Regarding his new party, Ghulam Nabi Azad said that about 1,500 names were sent to us in Urdu, Sanskrit. ‘Hindustani’ is a mixture of Hindi and Urdu. We wanted the name to be democratic, peaceful and free. Hence the name of the party was decided. Talking to the media in Jammu, he said that our politics will not be based on caste or religion. We will respect all religions and political parties. I have never made personal attacks on any party or leaders. I criticize policies. We should refrain from making personal attacks against political leaders.

He had told that the ideology of the new party will be like his name and only all secular people can participate in it.

Resigned from Congress on 26 August

Ghulam Nabi Azad, 73, resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party on 26 August. Along with resigning, Azad had also attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi fiercely. After Azad’s resignation, a former deputy chief minister, 8 former ministers, a former MP, 9 MLAs, besides a large number of members of Panchayati Raj Sansthan, municipal councilors from Jammu and Kashmir and many grassroots workers had resigned from the Congress. .
