Uttarakhand : CM Dhami held a review meeting of the construction department, instructed to expedite the work of Manaskhand corridor and complete the work on time.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the under construction and proposed works of Public Works Department, NH and BRO in the state at the Secretariat. Describing the Manaskhand corridor as the flagship program of the state government, the Chief Minister directed to expedite the proposed works. It should be ensured to complete the Bajrang Setu by the stipulated time frame by December 2022. The Chief Minister said that whatever decisions have to be taken, they should be finally decided in the meeting. The output of the meetings should be visible.

Necessary steps should be taken by surveying dark spots

The Chief Minister said that all the bridges and flyovers, there should be boards of speed limit. There should be complete drainage system. Necessary steps should be taken by surveying the dark spots in the state from the point of view of accidents. Some progress has been made in the crash barrier on the Chardham Yatra route and other routes as per the safety standards, it should be expedited. The work of patch work of SCO should be done expeditiously.

Seriously work on the treatment plan of the landslide zone

The Chief Minister said that the treatment plan of the landslide zone should be worked out seriously. Where possible, proposals should be made from the Mitigation Fund of Disaster Management. There should be a permanent solution to the places where debris comes in the rainy season.

It should be ensured that the necessary processes of central schemes from the state level are completed in a timely manner.

The Chief Minister said that a detailed description should be made on all the matters related to the level of the Central Government. For Garhwal-Kumaon connectivity, the Jeolikot to Karnprayag route should be expedited. Necessary process for construction of bypass in Kainchidham should be completed soon. The Chief Minister said that the quality of work should also be ensured and simplification should also be done. Best practices should be used.

SOP is being issued to ensure quality of construction works

It was informed in the meeting that SOP is being issued to ensure the quality of construction works. The process of arranging mobile lab is in progress. Online NIS has been implemented. Letters are being disposed of from the e-office. Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj, Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram and senior officers of Public Works Department, NH, BRO were present in the meeting.

Ankita’s father performed the last rites of the daughter after the appeal of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami last day. The protesters were also persuaded and pacified. Let us inform that Ankita Bhandari (19), a resident of Srikot in Nandalsu Patti of Pauri district, used to work as a receptionist at Vanantra Resort located in Gangapur Bhogpur on Barrage Chila Marg of Rishikesh. Ankita was working in this resort since August 28. Which mysteriously went missing on 18 September. After which Pulkit Arya, the owner of the resort, lodged a missing complaint with the revenue police post. Nothing was known of Ankita till 22 September. After this the matter was transferred to Laxmanjhula police station.

At the same time, when the police investigated, the role of the operator of the resort (Vanantra Resort Rishikesh) and its managers came to light. During interrogation of the employees of the resort, it was found that on September 18 at around 8 pm, Pulkit Arya, the owner of Ankita Resort, manager Ankit and Had left the resort with Bhaskar, but when he returned, Ankita (Receptionist Ankita Bhandari) was not with him. On this basis, the police took the three into custody and interrogated them.

The accused spilled the whole truth in front of the police. The accused had pushed Ankita Bhandari into the canal (Ankita Bhandari Murder Case). Due to which he died. In the case, the police arrested the resort operator Pulkit Arya, son of former Minister of State Vinod Arya (Pulkit Arya father Vinod Arya) and two of his managers on charges of murder. At the same time, on September 24, Ankita’s body was recovered from Cheela Barrage. After which the body was taken to AIIMS Rishikesh. Where his post-mortem was done.

At the same time, the Congressmen along with the villagers created a ruckus outside the mortuary demanding to make public the information about the post-mortem report, but in view of the urgency of the situation, the panel of doctors did not give information about the report hand-in-hand. Now the preliminary report of the post-mortem has come out. On the basis of which it can be said that the owner and his associates were harassing him since 28 August after joining duty in the resort. At the same time, Ankita was cremated in Srinagar last day. There was a lot of ruckus during this.
