Uttarakhand Best Tourism Destination Award
On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the state of Uttarakhand has been awarded the first prize by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for the best adventure tourism destination and for all round development of tourism. State Tourism and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj received this award from Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar at a program in New Delhi on Tuesday. Secretary Tourism Sachin Kurve was also present on the occasion. On receiving this award, Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Maharaj congratulated all the people of the state and the people associated with the tourism industry. Maharaj said that this honor is a matter of pride for Uttarakhand. He said that the state of Uttarakhand invites tourists from all over the country and abroad to visit the state where all kinds of facilities and opportunities are available in all categories of tourism. He said that the service of Himalaya Darshan through helicopter has also been launched in Mussoorie on Tuesday itself.
Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that the tourism department is working on several projects to attract tourists to Uttarakhand. He said that both the awards received by Uttarakhand prove that the popularity of the state is increasing continuously among the tourists. Maharaj said that with the start of Himalaya Darshan service, the number of tourists will increase further in the state. Tourists will be able to enjoy the lofty peaks of the Himalayas and the uncanny natural beauty of Uttarakhand via helicopter from George Everest. Giving information about the new steps taken in the state in the field of tourism, Satpal Maharaj said that in view of the increasing interest of tourists, the tourism department has also started a very attractive photography and videography contest on the occasion of World Tourism Day. Under this, photos and videos are being invited online in five different categories. Through this contest, prizes worth more than Rs 25 lakh will be given to tourism lovers.
Maharaj said that an attractive scheme has also been launched by Uttarakhand Tourism for travel influencers across the country, under which the travel influencers who make videos in regional languages will be empaneled in the tourism department. After this, they will be organized introductory tours i.e. Familiarization Tours at various places in Uttarakhand, which will be sponsored by the Government of Uttarakhand. Maharaj said that our plan is to explore the natural beauty of Uttarakhand, its folk arts, its rural culture, its adventurous geo-ecology, homestays, unique spiritual experiences and nutritious cuisines through influencers from the travel and tourism sector. – Reach the corner.
Tourism Minister Maharaj said that many programs are being organized this time to encourage winter tourism in the state. These include Track of the Year – Pindari Glacier to be held from October 2022 to January 2023 and Winter Line Carnival to be held in December 2022 at Bagchi Bugyal, Mussoorie and Nainital, Rafting Championship in Champawat from December 2022 to January 2023, Auli in February 2023 Events like the National Skiing Championship to be held and the International Yoga Festival to be held in Rishikesh in March 2023.
