30 years in prison for raping step daughter
The convict committed the incident when he was staying at the girl’s house. Earlier in August, a fast track court in Kerala sentenced a man to a total of 30 years in prison for several offenses under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) in the rape case of a minor step-daughter.
Special Public Prosecutor SS Sanesh had told that in 2018, a 32-year-old man raped his minor step-daughter at home in the absence of her mother in Idukki district. The SPP said that the court convicted the accused on the basis of the statement of the victim and her younger sister who witnessed the incident. The victim’s mother had turned hostile during the trial.
