In Uttarakhand, the case of reduction in petrol pumps, oil companies put a stop to the supply

In Uttarakhand, a case has come to light for cheating consumers by applying chip in 15 petrol pumps. In view of the seriousness of the matter, the supply of 15 petrol pumps has been stopped by the respective oil companies. As of now, the action has not been confirmed by the oil companies by issuing any official list in this matter. Nor was it complained by the oil companies to the State Food Department, but the District Supply Officers of all the districts have been ordered by the State Food Supply Department to investigate the pumps and take action. Surprisingly, in this case, it has come to the fore that neither the information has been given to the Food Supply Department about stopping the supply of petrol pumps by the oil companies, nor has any correspondence been made with the Food Department for action against the chipping. .

Despite correspondence, oil companies did not respond to the State Food Department

In this matter, Garhwal Food Supply Deputy Commissioner Vipin Kumar said that in this case, three oil companies have written a letter on September 26, 2022, seeking information about the reduction in petrol pumps and action regarding stopping their supply. So far, no reply has been given by the three oil companies to the Food Supplies Department. That in itself is a matter of regret. According to the information received from the sources, in 7 districts falling under the Garhwal region, Rishikesh in Dehradun, Roorkee in Haridwar and Nainital, Bhimtal, Sitarganj in Kumaon region have received written complaints of chipping in petrol pumps. In this matter, Garhwal Food Deputy Commissioner Vipin Kumar said that all the district supply officers of Garhwal region have been ordered to immediately investigate the concerned petrol pump and take action.

According to Garhwal Deputy Commissioner Vipin Kumar, on 23 September 2022, Dehradun Dispensary Road resident Aditya Kothari gave a written information that oil consumers are being cheated by putting chips on 15 petrol pumps in the state. It was also revealed in the complaint that the supply of the alleged petrol pumps by the three main petrol companies has been stopped. In such a situation, taking immediate cognizance of this matter, an appeal has been made to the concerned oil companies to make available the list of the accused outlet petrol pumps along with their names to the Food Department. So that district wise action can be ensured by the concerned District Supply Officers.
