Maharashtra: Threat to the life of CM Eknath Shinde, increased security after inputs received by intelligence department

The security of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has been increased after receiving specific information about the threat to his life. The State Intelligence Department (SID) had received specific information about the threat to the life of CM Shinde. According to the agency, State Intelligence Commissioner Ashutosh Dumbrey has confirmed the information about the threat to the life of CM Eknath Shinde. He said that the Chief Minister has been provided additional security, he has got Z+ category security. But after the input we got, we have taken necessary action and increased the security of the Chief Minister. Security has also been beefed up at Shinde’s private residence in Thane and Varsha’s official residence in Mumbai, he said.

Shinde is scheduled to address his first Dussehra rally at Mumbai’s MMRDA ground on October 5. Shinde became the chief minister of the state in June this year. According to the agency, in October last year also, Shinde had received a threat letter. It was feared that the Naxalites had sent this letter to him when he was the urban development minister and also the guardian minister of Naxalism-affected Gadchiroli district.
