PM Modi advised all ministers and secretaries, do not ignore the information of NSCS and NSA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given an important advice to all the ministers and secretaries. Sources said on Sunday that PM Modi has asked ministers to ignore the notes and other information shared by the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) and the National Security Advisor (NSA). Do not PM Modi has also said that all ministers should take these information and notes seriously.

Need to take a strategic approach

PM Modi has said that India’s strategic approach also needs to be seen while making any policy. There are instances when the notes of the National Security Council (NSCS) were not given due importance. During the five-hour long meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Friday, PM Modi referred to the issue of dependence on imported Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) used for manufacturing medicines, which was highlighted by the NSCS several years ago.

Presentation on NSCS

According to the report of news agency PTI, after this meeting, on the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Deputy NSA Vikram Misri made a presentation on NSCS to apprise the ministers. In the presentation, Deputy NSA Vikram Misri shared information about the changes happening around the world (especially in Europe, Russia and the US) and their impact on India, sources said.

Policy making process dynamic

Sources said Mishri’s presentation was organized after the intervention of the Prime Minister. Finance Secretary TV Somanathan and Commerce Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam also gave their presentation before Mishri. During the meeting of the Council of Ministers, PM Modi also underlined that the process of policy making is dynamic and needs to be modified with the changing times. PM Modi said in the meeting that there is a tendency to be complacent in formulating and implementing policies which should be avoided.
