Uttarakhand: Cabinet reshuffle and BJP’s state unit will also change soon!

After the Ankita Bhandari murder case and recruitment scam in Uttarakhand, the BJP has got a lot of grit. Sources have told The Indian Express that there is every possibility of a change in the state government and the Uttarakhand BJP. However, Pushkar Singh Dhami will continue as Chief Minister. The national leadership of the party wants to resolve the issues soon and does not want to escalate it. Pushkar Singh Dhami had a detailed discussion on this issue during his visit to Delhi with BJP’s national organization general secretary BL Santosh. BL Santosh is currently in Uttarakhand and is meeting the leaders of different factions of the party and taking their opinion. People close to Pushkar Dhami claim that the CM wants the government to be completely clean by removing mischievous elements from both the government and the Uttarakhand BJP. At the same time, his critics say that the CM wants to get an opportunity to keep his close allies in key positions in this crisis.
Sources said that Pushkar Dhami will soon reshuffle his cabinet and there will be changes in the state unit of the BJP as well. But the national leadership of the party is not ready to replace Mahendra Bhatt. Bhatt took over as the state president of the BJP in July. Sources said that Pushkar Dhami could not meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his Delhi visit, but he discussed the state’s issues over the telephone. Sources said that apart from Pushkar Dhami, several senior BJP leaders including former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, senior leaders Dhan Singh Rawat and Satpal Maharaj also met the party’s central leaders and gave their opinion on the current situation in the Uttarakhand unit.
The BJP has been engulfed in widespread protests against the state government’s response to the murder of employee Ankita Bhandari at a resort owned by former BJP minister Vinod Arya’s son Pulkit Arya. The issue was also raised at the national level by the opposition Congress. However, the BJP has expelled both of them from the party.
Sources said that some party leaders have initially questioned the state government’s response on the matter that the government acted only after public protest. The crisis on the party comes at a time when it was already grappling with the recruitment scam, which allegedly involves some BJP leaders.
