Sushil Modi said on OBC reservation decision of Patna High Court, Nitish Kumar responsible

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Modi while issuing a statement on the decision of Patna High Court said that Nitish Kumar is responsible for not getting reservation for OBC-EBC in the municipal elections of the state. In a video statement posted on Twitter, Sushil Modi said that despite the order of the Supreme Court, Nitish Kumar has not conducted the triple test, due to which the court has given this decision. Sushil Modi also hit back on Upendra Kushwaha’s statement, saying that Nitish Kumar has not followed the procedure, due to which the people of the backward class of the state will not get the benefit of reservation in the municipal elections and Nitish Kumar is responsible for this.
Sushil Modi said that Nitish Kumar had given reservation arbitrarily despite the Supreme Court’s clear instructions that reservation cannot be given without triple test. Sushil Modi said that due to the arbitrariness of Nitish Kumar, the people of the backward classes of Bihar will be deprived of reservation in the Bihar municipal elections.

The Patna High Court has canceled the OBC reservation in the municipal elections to be held in Bihar this month and put a stay on the elections. On the petition against reservation, Chief Justice of Patna High Court Sanjay Karol and S. Kumar’s bench pronounced the verdict on Tuesday. The court accepted that the state government has given reservation to OBCs without a triple test as per the decision of the Supreme Court. While the backward castes were to be identified before giving reservation, but the government did not do so and directly gave reservation which is completely wrong.
