Uttarakhand : Bulldozers run on two illegal resorts of Hakam

Two illegal resorts built on forest land of the main accused Hakam Singh Rawat in the UKSSSC paper leak case were demolished by the administration on Tuesday by running a bulldozer. Before the action, there was a scuffle between the villagers and the administration team. When the administration did not agree, the villagers themselves removed the wood on the resort. Later the administration team demolished the resort with a bulldozer.

The Govind Wildlife Vihar administration had issued a notice on September 26 and directed them to vacate the illegal resorts and demolish them. If this was not done, on October 4, the administration had said that the demolition would be done. Along with this, the recovery of the cost of demolition was also said to be recovered from the encroachers. On Tuesday, Govind Wildlife Vihar National Park, Purola Tehsil Administration and police arrived to demolish Hakam Singh’s resort built on the land of the Forest Department at Sankri.

During this, Hakam’s wife Bisuli Devi and villagers opposed the demolition. Hakam’s wife said that Hakam had nothing to do with this property. Bisuli Devi has demanded a re-examination from the administration and Van Govind Wildlife Vihar administration, on which the department refused to re-investigate. After this the villagers themselves started destroying the illegal resort. The villagers took away the wood installed in the resort.

Stuff was empty
In view of the possibility of demolition, the goods were already evacuated from the resort. Valuables like windows, doors, toilet seats etc. had already been removed from the home stay.

The eviction notice was given to the concerned party on September 26, but the party concerned did not comply with the notice within the stipulated time period. Demolition action was taken on this on Tuesday. The cost will also be recovered from the concerned party.
