All 63 girl students living in the hostel of Veerangana Jhalkari Bai Government Women’s Polytechnic College could not sleep on Tuesday night. She was so scared that everyone left their rooms and gathered in a hall. They felt that someone was on the roof. Knocking on the window too. Strange sounds are coming. Police also reached on the information of the girl students. The hostel was searched till morning but nothing was found. But the fear still did not go away and in the morning all the 63 girl students left the hostel.

Women’s Polytechnic College is located on Gwalior Road. There are two hostels in this college campus. 63 girl students stay in the old hostel. On Tuesday night around 12.30, the girl students realized that someone was on the roof of the hostel. He felt as if many people were walking on the roof. It was not felt by any one girl student, but eight or ten girl students. Within no time panic spread in the hostel. All the girl students came out of their rooms and gathered in a hall and informed the police control. Within no time the force of Control Room, Dial 112 and Gwalior Road Police Outpost reached. He searched every corner but found nothing. At the same time, two girl students told the police that when the vehicles were coming with sirens, they heard such a sound as if someone had jumped from the roof and ran towards the bushes. The policemen who reached the hostel explained to the girl students that there is nothing, they should not panic. But her fear did not go away and called her local parents and went with them on Wednesday morning. All 63 girl students have vacated the hostel.

Lessons not taken, security on the margins

Jhansi. Two years ago, the incident of gang-rape with a girl student was carried out in the hostel of the Polytechnic College. On Monday, the court sentenced eight accused to life imprisonment in this case. Despite this, arrangements were not made for the security of the hostels of the women’s polytechnics. Even the CCTV cameras installed in the hostels are bad. Big bushes are growing all around the campus. There is also no adequate arrangement of lighting in the premises at night. Glasses of many windows are also broken. The situation is that the hostel premises seem like a forest. In the name of security, duty of four PRD jawans has definitely been imposed here. But, they also refrain from walking in the hostel premises at night.

The girl students told the incident to the police

Jhansi. Gwalior Road Outpost Incharge Shriprakash Dubey said that as soon as the information about someone being in the hostel was received, the police immediately reached the spot in the night itself. The student had told that she had heard the sound of someone walking on the roof. Also a shadow was seen. On this the entire hostel premises were searched, but nothing was found. On this the police stayed in the hostel overnight.

On information, the college staff immediately reached the hostel in the night itself. A search was also conducted with the police in the premises, but nothing was found. The girls have left the hostel because of the holiday. Four PRD jawans are stationed at all times for the security of the hostel. Apart from this, more stringent security arrangements are being made.
