Uttarakhand : Dhami’s threat was seen in Haridwar Panchayat elections, BJP’s victory on five of the six block key posts is certain

For the first time in the three-tier panchayat elections, the BJP’s dunk has been played. No candidate challenged the BJP candidates for the post of president, vice-president of district panchayat and five out of six posts of block chief. With this, it has been decided to wave the flag of BJP on all these posts. Enthused by the party’s performance, BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt has described it as a result of the efficient leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the hard work of senior party leaders and the activism of the workers involved in the organization’s election management. According to political experts, the victory of the Haridwar three-tier panchayat elections has special significance. The party, which is preparing for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, took the Panchayat elections very seriously. Victory in Zilla Panchayat and Kshetra Panchayats was like a dream for BJP. She was behind in all the previous elections held after the formation of the state.
Special significance of elections for CM
This was the first election test of BJP state president Bhatt after taking over the command of the organization. The three-tier panchayat elections also had special meaning for CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, who won the Champawat by-election with a historic edge.
In fact, the biggest setback for the BJP in the 2022 assembly elections was in Haridwar district itself, where it lost eight out of 11 seats. Panchayat elections were an opportunity for her to equalize the defeat, which she managed to seize. Even before the announcement of the election, CM Dhami visited the rural areas of Haridwar district under a simple strategy and the party threw its workers in the mandals and booths. The Congress did not even look around in front of his strategy.
The MP for Haridwar, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal and former cabinet minister Swami Yatheeswaranand had made these elections a matter of prestige. To create an atmosphere, the party tried to show its strength at every step, from including leaders of other parties in the BJP to garnering support. BJP state president Bhatt believes that the results of the elections have written the script for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
