In Uttarakhand too, every family will have a unique identity card, know what is the reason behind it

In order to make the benefits of central and state government schemes reach directly to the families of Uttarakhand, preparations are being made to make mandatory unique identity cards of all the families of Uttarakhand. Like Haryana Parivar Pehchan Patra Yojana, a team of officers has visited Haryana and studied the scheme for making family identity cards. At present there are 23 lakh families in the state. According to departmental officials, soon the instructions in this regard will be issued after a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary. According to the officials of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, the Parivar Pehchan Patra scheme has been started in Haryana. Where every family is being issued a 14 digit unique identity card.

Through this, it is being decided that every resident of the state can get the benefit of any government scheme. On the lines of Haryana, preparations are being made to start this scheme in Uttarakhand also. For this, a team of officers of Food and Civil Supplies Department as well as some other departments have visited Haryana last month.

Instructions for setting up a task force

After studying the scheme in Haryana, it has been found satisfactory. Chief Secretary SS Sandhu has recently directed the Food and Civil Supplies Department to prepare a road map of the scheme and form a task force for the concerned departments. Departments like IT, Planning etc. have also been included in the plan.

In the matter of family identity card, the team of officers had gone to Haryana. The work related to the identity card was earlier entrusted to the Food and Civil Supplies Department, it was a good task for us, but now this work has been given to the Planning Department.
