Uttarakhand : Dhami’s strictness regarding Dehradun Smart City, said to the officials – there is no compromise on quality, if any deficiency is found, strict action will be taken

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while reviewing the Dehradun Smart City project at the Secretariat on Thursday, directed the officers that in whatever works are being done under the Smart City, special attention should be paid to what can be done for Smart Dehradun. be given. All the work should be done within the prescribed limits. Whatever suggestions are being given by the people’s representatives, those suggestions should be implemented by taking them seriously. The Chief Minister said that the works of Smart City should be completed expeditiously in view of public convenience. It should be ensured that public money is used in public interest with proper planning. For this, all the departments and working organizations should work in coordination.

The Chief Minister directed the officers that the works being done under Smart City should be done keeping in mind the circumstances of the coming 50 years. What else can be done to make Dehradun an ideal city, a complete action plan should be prepared. The Chief Minister directed the officers that awareness campaign should be conducted continuously for Green City, Clean City. Special attention should also be paid to the cleanliness of the city. He directed the officers to pay attention to the suggestions received by the public representatives in this meeting, what appropriate solutions can be found on all those suggestions. The focus should be on strengthening the municipalities. Such schemes in which the share of the Center and the state are in the ratio of 90 and 10 respectively, those schemes should be worked on on top priority basis.

The Chief Minister directed the officers to ensure that all roads are potholed free. The work of strengthening of roads more than 3.75 meters wide in municipal areas should be done by the Public Works Department. He said that there is also a need to strengthen the municipal bodies from the point of view of human resource. The Chief Minister directed the officers that for the completion of the works under Smart City, the budget should be prepared and sent to the government at the earliest. The Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary to hold a separate meeting to review the various works being done in the Parade Ground under Smart City. The Chief Minister directed the officers of all the working organizations that no compromise would be made on the quality of work. If any deficiency is found in the quality of work, strict action will be taken against the concerned. He also directed the Garhwal Commissioner to regularly review the works of Smart City.

CEO Smart City / District Magistrate Dehradun Sonika gave detailed information about the progress of various works going on under Smart City. He said that a target has been set to complete this Dehradun Smart City project by June 2023. Out of the 26 projects that were to be worked on under the Smart City project, 10 have been completed, most of the work on 4 projects has been completed, work on 12 projects is in progress.
