75-year-old Nakul Dutt Sharma, a resident of HIG sector of Jhunsi’s Housing Development Colony Yojana-II, had retired from IFFCO Phulpur about 15 years ago as a senior manager. He is survived by wife Shobhana Sharma, sons Samarth and Sagar Sharma. Samarth is a lecturer in a private university in Noida. Shobhana lives in Noida with her elder son Samarth. Shobhana is a retired teacher. Nakul Dutt Sharma and his younger son Sagar used to live here at home.
The case opened when the tea shopkeeper informed the police
When Nakul Dutt Sharma did not appear outside for three days, the shopkeeper who ran the tea stall next to his house got suspicious. He informed the Jhunsi police. Policemen reached his house. When he knocked on the gate, Sagar came out. The policemen asked him where the father was, to which he said that he was sleeping in the upstairs room. When asked to call him, he refused. On this the policemen reached the room.
The dead body of the old man was lying on the bed
The door was locked from outside. When the policemen entered inside by opening the door, the dead body of Nakul Dutt Sharma was lying on the bed in front of him. The police interrogated the people around and informed their elder son. Forensic team investigated. When the old man died, it will be known from the post mortem report. At present, it is being told four days in advance.
Old man had bruises on his head
Station in-charge Jhunsi Vaibhav Singh says that foul smell was emanating from the dead body. He had an injury on his head. The body was lying on the bed as if it was sleeping. It is feared that he had died three days back. People around told that there was often a dispute between father and son. They don’t know why there used to be a fight. Only after the post mortem report comes, it will be clear what are the reasons for his death. The policemen who reached the spot were stunned to see the antics of Sagar Sharma. Station in-charge Vaibhav Singh told that when the body was found, Sagar came out of the house and bought cold drink from a shop located some distance away. Standing at the gate, he started drinking it. When he was asked how his father had died, he said that he must have died. Everyone was shocked to hear his awkward answer.
