Actress Tabassum is no more, died of cardiac arrest at the age of 78
Tabassum, the famous actress of Hindi cinema, has passed away. Tabassum was 78 years old. Tabassum had suffered a cardiac arrest on Friday evening, due to which he succumbed. Aaj Tak spoke to her son Hoshang about the demise of mother Tabassum. He told that the mother passed away last night at 8:40 due to cardiac arrest. He had already instructed the family to inform about his departure after two days. Like Raj Kumar, he had to resign. I have told this news to the media only after the last rites were done.
Who was Tabassum?
Tabassum started her career as a child artist in the 1947 film ‘Nargis’. After this he was seen in Mera Suhaag, Manjhdhar, Badi Behen and Deedar. The song ‘Bachpan Ke Din Bhula Na Dena’ sung by Lata Mangeshkar was picturized on Baby Tabassum. She played the childhood role of Meena Kumari in the film ‘Baiju Bawra’.
Tabassum made a comeback after taking a break from films for a few years. Now she was grown up. He hosted the first Indian television talk show Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan. The show ran for 21 years (from 1972 to 1993). Tabassum had taken interviews of many celebs on this show, due to which it became very popular.
In 1985, he released his first film as a director, producer and writer. Its name was Tum Par Hum Kurbaan. He made a comeback on TV in 2006. Tabassum married Vijay Govil, elder brother of ‘Ramayana’ serial fame actor Arun Govil. They have a son named Hoshang Govil.
