Governor should not have compared Shivaji with Gadkari,’ says Maharashtra BJP president
Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has been isolated after his controversial statement. Amid strong opposition from opposition parties, now the state BJP has also termed Koshyari’s statement as wrong. Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule said on Monday That Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari should not have compared Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar with the great Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Please tell that Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari had described Shivaji Maharaj as the ideal of the old era and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari as the ideal of the new era. In fact, Governor Koshyari attended the convocation ceremony of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University located in Aurangabad. Here he honored Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar with the title of Delete.
Opposition parties NCP, Congress, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and other organizations are protesting in Maharashtra on Koshyari’s statement. Even the BJP is unable to defend Governor Koshyari’s statement.
Opposition parties looking for an excuse to target the Governor
According to the news agency, BJP’s state president Bawankule has given a statement. He said- He (Governor) should not have compared NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. All the people of Maharashtra feel the same. However, it should not be forgotten that the Governor is working in his office taking inspiration from Shivaji Maharaj. Bawankule said that the opposition in the state is looking for an excuse to target him and is ignoring his good works in the last two and a half years.
Governor Koshyari had given this statement
Addressing the students, Bhagat Singh Koshyari said that if someone asks you who is your ideal, you do not need to go out to find him, you will find him right here in Maharashtra. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is a thing of the old era. Now in the new era, you will find Dr. From Babasaheb Ambedkar to Nitin Gadkari here.
He said- ‘Earlier when we used to study in school-college, we were asked who is your favorite hero, favorite leader? We used to say Subhash Chandra Bose, Jawaharlal Nehru and Gandhiji. But I think if someone asks you who is your icon? Who is your favorite hero? So there is no need to go outside Maharashtra. You will find these in Maharashtra and ‘Shivaji’ is one of them, however, he belongs to the older generation now. So let’s talk about the new generation which you will find here from Dr. Ambedkar to Dr. Gadkari i.e. Nitin Gadkari.
