Maharashtra Women’s Commission notice regarding Ramdev’s controversial statement on women

The Maharashtra Women’s Commission has issued a notice to Yoga Guru Ramdev for his controversial remarks on women. This notice has been issued to him regarding his controversial statement regarding women, the commission has given three days time to Ramdev to reply to the notice.

On Friday, during an event in Thane, Maharashtra, Ramdev had said, “Women look good in saris, women look good in salwar suits and in my eyes women look good even if they don’t wear anything.”

Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Lok Sabha MP Shrikant Shinde, son of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, were present at the event. People’s reactions are coming out in this matter.

Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra took a jibe at Ramdev’s statement and wrote, “Now I know why Patanjali Baba ran away from Ramlila Maidan dressed in women’s clothes, because he likes saris and salwars and…”

“Surely he has strabismus (a kind of disorder) in his brain that he is making such statements.”

Swati Maliwal, head of the Delhi Women’s Commission, has also tweeted reacting to this statement, “Swami Ramdev’s remarks on women in front of the wife of the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra are indecent and condemnable.”

She said, “All women have been hurt by this statement, Baba Ramdev ji should apologize to the country for this statement.”
