Scientist surprised to find mummy with golden tongue
In Egypt’s Necropolis, scientists have found such mummies, everyone is surprised to see their tongue. According to an ancient Egyptian belief, the real tongue of the deceased was cut off and replaced with a gold tongue so that the deceased could speak to the god Osiris. In Egypt, Osiris is called the God of Death and Lord of the Underworld. According to belief, the god Osiris is the one who judges after death. For this reason, the dead were given a golden tongue so that they could beg the god Osiris for mercy after death.
Then why doesn’t every mummy have a golden tongue?
Scientists are perplexed that if golden tongues were used to speak to the god Osiris, why were only a handful of such mummies found in Egypt? Why was this not done with the rest of the mummy? Significantly, even during the funeral rites in Egypt, gold ornaments and utensils associated with it have been of great importance. Gold is considered very sacred in Egypt, where people consider gold to be part of the skin of the sun god (Ra).
