Weather experts forecast that the chill will increase further by the end of the week. The cold winds coming from the mountains will increase the chill in the plains as well. Western Disturbance is likely to reach North India from December 2. Due to its effect, there may be snowfall in the Himalayan region. Cold winds will come towards the plains as the Western Disturbance progresses. After which, from December 4, there will be a rapid drop in the temperature of the state including the plains and the period of severe cold will begin. These days the cold has increased even around the tourist places of Kumaon.
Due to the temperature reaching seven to eight degrees in Jageshwar, Kausani, Nainital etc., there is a feeling of severe cold in the morning and night. Similarly, in Champawat and Almora, the mercury is reaching close to three to four degrees at night. Pithoragarh, Almora, Champawat and Bageshwar recorded a drop in temperature of up to three degrees Celsius on Tuesday. The temperature remained stable in Nainital. State Meteorological Center director Bikram Singh said that the difference between the maximum and minimum temperature on Wednesday could be around 12 to 16 degrees. At present the weather will remain dry. According to meteorologists, Western Disturbance remains less active in North India in October and November. Its activity increases in December. By the beginning of December, once again the Western Disturbance will be active, due to which it will rain all over North India.
