Temperature reached below zero in Badrinath, waterfalls turned into ice and sage Ganga, 12 saints will reside in Badrinath Dham
After the snowfall in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand in the past, the cold has started increasing across the state. People have to resort to bonfires in the morning and evening. At the same time, it is getting cold these days in Badrinath Dham. The temperature here is reaching below zero at night. At the same time, due to the cold, the Rishi Ganga flowing near the Dham has completely frozen. The doors of Badrinath Dham have been closed for winter on 19th November. These days police personnel, BKTC employees and laborers are working for the work of master plan in Dham. The cold is increasing very much in the evening in Dham. By night the temperature here is reaching below zero. Although there is some relief when the sun shines in the afternoon, but the people living here are facing a lot of problems due to the cold in the morning and evening. Due to the cold, the rivers and waterfalls flowing here are also freezing.
Water is also freezing on the taps of the drinking water line. The water of Rishi Ganga flowing near Badrinath Dham has frozen on the hill itself. Along with this, the weather has cooled down in the high altitude areas including Hemkund Sahib, Valley of Flowers, Rudranath. On the other hand, Joshimath Tehsil Administration has so far given permission to 12 saints and seers to reside in Badrinath Dham during winters. During this, sages and saints do penance in the Dham.
Please tell that in winter (from December to May), Badrinath Dham remains in the lap of snow. Snow accumulates from Dham to Hanuman Chatti (10 km) from December to February.
