Tension on the border in Uttarakhand, stone pelting on Indian laborers from Nepal
A tense situation has arisen on the Indo-Nepal border in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. The reason, on Sunday evening Indian laborers were pelted with stones from Nepal side. Due to which there was chaos among the laborers engaged in the construction work. According to the information, this stone pelting took place in Dharchula area. Here embankment construction was going on on the Kali river. About whom this dispute is being told. Nepali citizens are opposing this construction. On the other hand, the Nepali security personnel remained mute spectators during this whole incident.
This stone pelting continued continuously for about 4 hours. During this, the laborers engaged in the work of embankment construction in Indian territory have also been hurt. Along with this, the glasses of the Pokeland machine of Arun Construction, which was working on embankment construction, were also broken. During this, the laborers engaged in embankment work barely saved their lives by running away.
Let us tell you that Nepali citizens have been pelting stones in Indian areas for many days. Due to which the company constructing the embankment in Indian territory has to stop the work again and again. It is being told that Nepali citizens are opposing the embankment being built in Indian territory. In view of continuous stone pelting, the team of SSB and local administration has reached the spot and started investigating the matter.
Actually, Dharchula is a border area bordering Nepal and China. The distance from Dharchula to the China border is 80 km, where the Dharchula Lipulekh Highway has been constructed. But the border of Nepal starts from Dharchula itself. India and Nepal border is across the Kali river in Dharchula. India is on one side of the Kali river and Nepal on the other side. Hundreds of villages are settled around the Kali river. There are many suspension bridges built for movement in these villages. There is deployment of SSB on Indo-Nepal border.
Let us tell you that in 2020, the friendly relations between India and Nepal turned sour when Nepal released a new political map. In this map, Nepal had shown those areas of Kala Pani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulekh in its territory, which India considers to be part of the state of Uttarakhand. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh then inaugurated a road link from Dharchula in Uttarakhand to Lipulekh on the China border in a special program on 8 May 2020. Opposing this, Nepal had again claimed its claim on Lipulekh. There was tension between the two countries for many days regarding this.
In 2020, Nepal attempted to occupy Noman’s Land
Significantly, in July 2020, an attempt was made by Nepal to occupy the disputed Noman’s land on the border with Tanakpur in Uttarakhand. There was an uproar in this area from both the sides regarding this. Earlier, the Nepali Force had stopped the construction of an under-construction dam in Bihar’s East Champaran district, claiming it to be in No Man’s Land.
