According to the Rules, 2022, the vacant posts of Nursing Officer will be filled once for the selection year 2022-23 in order of year-wise merit as revealed by the marks obtained by the candidate in degree/diploma, following the reservation roster. In the amended rules, 80 percent female candidates and 20 percent male candidates will be selected for the vacant posts of Nursing Officer for the year 2022-23. Apart from this, out of the total vacancies available for selection, 70 percent posts will be selected from candidates holding Diploma in Nursing and 30 percent posts from candidates holding degree in Nursing on the basis of year-wise merit.

After amendment in the rules, direct recruitment will be done by the Uttarakhand Medical Services Selection Board, which will be done online and by issuing a release in two daily newspapers with wide publicity. The Uttarakhand Medical Services Selection Board will scrutinize the applications by ensuring representation of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Sections and other categories of the state. Apart from this, marks equal to the percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in the Diploma/Degree examination will be given. Uttarakhand Medical Service Selection Board will prepare the lists according to the marks obtained by the Diploma/Degree candidates. If two or more candidates obtain equal marks, then the name of the candidate whose date of birth is earlier will be placed in the order of merit on the basis of first.
