West Bengal : Fake CBI robs Rs 30 lakh cash and jewelery on the lines of the movie “Special 26”, accused come in vehicles with police stickers

On the lines of the film Special 26 in Kolkata, some people posing as fake CBI officers looted Rs 30 lakh cash and jewelery from a businessman’s house. The incident is of Bhawanipur area. Businessman Suresh Wadhwa (60 years) lodged a complaint with the police, then the matter came to light.

Accused came in vehicles with police stickers

Wadhwa told that at 8 am on Monday 7-8 people reached his house posing as CBI officers and said that they have come to raid. These people had come in three vehicles bearing police stickers. When Suresh opened the door, these people entered the house posing as CBI officers. Wadhwa asked him to show the ID card, but no one responded to him. According to Wadhwa, the fake CBI officers made away with Rs 30 lakh in cash and jewelery worth lakhs. These people also made a list of seized goods, but told the victim that this list would be sent to them later. He also told the victim that he would be called to the office to give his statement.

Police suspect – close of the house involved in the case

Initial investigation by the police revealed that all the people who came posing as fake CBI officers were of tall stature and were carrying sticks during the raid. The police suspect that the people living in the house or people close to businessman Wadhwa may have a hand in this matter.

Police told that we are talking to the servants and employees of Wadhwa Residence. The accused knew where Wadhwa kept the cash and jewelery in the house. He must have got this information from an insider only. That’s why we are also extracting CCTV footage of that area so that the three vehicles in which the accused had come could be identified.
